RE: kt7-raid

I have this board and am using the RAID ports for all my hard drives. I use the standard IDE controllers for my CD-ROM, CD-RW and DVD drives. I haven't had a single problem with it under Linux. Windows 2000 and below suck because they don't support ATA100 during setup, but Linux has been great.

If you are trying to make the change on an installed system, I can see that you would have problems since the device names are going to be different than normal, but if you are doing a clean install with your hard drives on the RAID controller everything should just work. It did for me.

What problems are you having with the board?

Anyone out there running and abit kt7-Raid board? If so, have you been
able to get the additional IDE interfaces to work. These are the ones
that can be used for raid (though I just want to run them normally)
using the HPT370 chipset. I only saw support for HPT366 in the kernel,
so I'm guessing that this IDE controller isn't supported, but if I'm
wrong, please let me know because I would like to using the additional 4
IDE interfaces it provides.
