I did an
apt-get update
apt-get dist-upgrade
after changing sources.list to testing (I think, it's been a while, may
have been woody) and lost some of my login stuff. Apparently some scripts
for the login manager were overwritten. (It's also possible I fouled
things up on my own!;0) But it won't overwrite your personal stuff,
emails, etc. in your home directory.
