Yes and no. I looked at flat panels as well as larger CRT monitors with high
refresh rates. Most 15" flat panel displays start at $600 Cdn here in
Vancouver. I got a NEC Multisync 95 19" CRT for $350. Most 15" flat panels
have a max resolution of 1024x768.

On a 19" monitor, eye strain is also reduced by having more on the screen at
one time and not having to costantly scroll windows. That eases eye strain
and improves concentration. Trouble is, have you seen the price of 19" flat
sscreen monitors? Around $1400-$1700Cdn. That works out to 3-4 x as expensive
as my NEC.

It's always a trade off...
