Don't get me wrong, but it seems you haven't read the docs of MPlayer,
have you?  They state that it is legal to distribute the source code of
MPlayer.  However, binary distributions will break the law.  Remember,
MPlayer isn't GPL!

But you are rigth: The MPlayer folks *are* arrogant.

Uhm, why not?  Especially with very often used acronyms (like RTFM) I
don't see any problems.  Besides:  Sooner or later you'll stumble across
an acronym.  So you'll end up looking up (and learning) the meaning.
What's so bad about learning?

Oh, come on!  You're a little soft, aren't you?  Up to now there even
was a real flame, so I don't see the issue here.  But then again, I'm
different from you; or better: everybody is different.
